So in the past I’ve tried to do organized ARC lists. Unfortunately, it proved to be far too much for me to handle on my own so I scrapped the official list for a few months and and have been doing a very sloppy, confetti-esque giveaway a few days before launch.
Well, now that I have a full-time assistant, the lovely Ms. Kira Coyne, I can once again do an official ARC list! Kira’s going to be handling 100% of anything ARC related, so if you’d like to receive free copies of my books in exchange for honest reviews, here’s the scoop:
*Currently, the ARCs will be only for Running With Alphas, which is going to have monthly releases between now and spring of 2015. Each novella will be around 30,000 words, or 100-125 pages.
*ARCs will go out a few days days prior to publication. ARC readers will be expected to be able to post their review to Amazon (.com or .co.uk) within 24 hours of publication. This is very important, because the point of having ARCs is having plenty of reviews for prospective readers at launch.
*ARCs will be offered in mobi (Kindle), ePub (iDevice optimized), ePub (Nook optimized), and PDF format. Also very important, if you request a mobi file and plan on reading it on your Kindle, you have to know how to side-load the files.
*Reviews are your honest opinion. You won’t be removed from the list for writing an unfavorable review.
Joining the ARC Team
Again, Kira is not going to remove you from the list for writing an unfavorable review. The reason you’ll have to email the review is that we want to be giving free copies to people that are going to take the time to review and there’s no other way to efficiently cross-reference this.
Another point I should make is that Kira is not forwarding me your reviews or telling me who’s saying what about the books. The point of having her do this is so that I don’t have to handle any of this stuff. I’ve got books to write, conferences to attend, piles and piles of emails to respond to, social media–really I could go on and on, but what it all boils down to is that I’m a very busy woman!
***Make sure you’ve thoroughly read the ARC Overview section before requesting to receive ARCs.
